So.. I started drafting an entry this morning, and well its evening now and I have not even completed that draft. LOL.
I'm no longer inspired to blog these days. My life revolves around work just the way i like it so my life ain't that interesting to begin with :P
I tweet more nowadays just because its convenient and its convenient to do so with my blackberry storm :P

Oh yes i got meself a new phone! Its a month old now so kinda an old update hehe but i've been eyeing this phone eversince it first got announced and well the name of the phone helps as well, storm = arashi. LOLOLOL!

My baby. Of course my wallpaper has to be my favourite boys ;)

Today has been a slow day. I didn't go to work today because of the thing called the cramps. I hate cramps, it feels like a bulldozer ran over my stomach. I don't usually get the cramps but the fasting month always makes my system go out of whack especially now since i'm taking meds for me heart. bleah.

Eid is fast approaching, not that i'm looking forward to it. It'll be the same as every year me thinks. The only thing difference between last year's and this year is that i won't be in the ICU recovering from heart surgery hurhur. What i'm looking forward to more than anything else is my trip to Tokyo in December. 3 more months baby! I am so excited. I hope my monthly savings will be able to cover my whole trip. It ain't exactly a breeze having to save up almost half of my salary each month for the trip but i'm sure it'll be worth it. Experience vs Material things, i very much rather have the former. Material things don't last but memories are precious and part of who you are as a person. Well at least that is what i think.

Saturday with my favourite girls was awesome. Met up with ifah, aida and her hubby for our 'breaking fast picnic' @ Class 95's Movies in the Park. The place was packed when we arrived! and it was only about 6.20pm. We were able to get a spot near the tents but unfortunately we were seated near the public footpath so throughout the first movie, Iron Man, there was a constant stream of people walking up and down the footpath. They were either people who couldn't sit still or came late for the movie. Thank god when it came to the 2nd movie most ppl who brought their young kids started making their way home mainly bcoz i guess their kids were tired. We were able to move towards the center of the viewing area for Transformers: Revenge of the fallen and our new spot was fantastic! Will definitely look forward to the next Movies in the Park. Kudos to Class95 for the awesome event (^-^)b

Heard the buzz about the VMA's today? Well particularly about Kanye West's stunt. He should have not interrupted Taylor Swift's moment on stage when she won the Best Female Video Award. I'm not a huge fan of hers but she did work hard and totally deserved the award. Kanye is simply put an immature egotistical prat. Beyonce is one classy awesome lady when she gave Taylor her moment after she won Video of the Year award. I have new found respect for Beyonce (^-')b

If you have no clue what i'm talking about, here are the videos if you're interested:

So how is everyone enjoying their long Easter holiday weekend? Well for the most part of mine i'm busy slacking at home watching online videos and doing personal online research, i'll let you know what i'm researching on it a bit. I love research don't you LOL!
ok quick random updates!

1 - Oasis' concert at the Indoor Stadium last Sunday was a blast, let's just say it was a day to remember. It was one hell of an experience, especially when i thought i almost died LOL! Never am i going to stand in the first few rows of a free standing crowd ever again. Rowdy concert goers pushing you left right and center, at one point I thought I was going to fall and be trampled by strangers. Heck the view from the back is still good especially when I'm tall so all is goood (^-^)b

Photobucket

2 - Lately I have had a handful of friends who went or is planning to go to Japan for holiday/work/school trip and every time I get a lil bit jealous because I really wanna go too!! So I have decided for my 25th Birthday in November this year I am going to do my very own budget trip to Tokyo, Japan! Wooot! I think I deserve a trip after everything that i've been through these past few months. Budget is gonna be tight, I found a hostel i'm considering and I like planning and doing research for a trip, Its now or never baby, life is too short to live in regret! lol
Besides the usual places in Tokyo that I want to go to like Shibuya, Harujuku, Akihabara, etc, I'm thinking of going to Aiba's family restaurant in Chiba. I could have my birthday lunch/dinner there, perhaps aye? And I'm looking for a travel buddy if anyone is interested *grinz*
If not a solo trip is okay with me too, bring on the adventure! Another alternative is if there is anyone who is already in Tokyo would want to meet up or show me around that will be awesome too!

Wee~ i'm damn excited for this trip! I'm still doing my reearch and planning out the budget and itinerary and i'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out smoothly. I'll update my progress on this trip as and when there is progress (^-^)v

3 - I think i realised something this week, whenever I'm in need of a stress reliever the Arashi boys never fails to make me laugh, especially Aiba. Was looking back on a meme I did on facebook and there was a question on who makes me laugh and my answer was Aiba. The dude really cracks me up with his baka-ness and is it just me or is he getting better looking. Maybe he has always looked like that but i've never noticed? Ironically he was the first member i noticed when I was watching an older Arashi PV a couple years back and they were simply another J-pop group to me before I really got into them and thereafter all the other members started shining brighter :P

4 - Eversince the public transportation service providers have been fined early last week for lapses in their services, I must say the public buses have kinda improved during peak hours. But i have doubts that they will keep up with it coz sooner or later, the peak hour services will go back to before, never on time and you have to wait for ages for a feeder service and then the bus service providers, like routine, will get fined again and who gets affected? The public, because these public service providers will raise their fares again. I hope they prove me wrong.

5 - If you're in sg, I'm sure you've read/heard about the food poisoning episode with the geylang rojak stall. My condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. This tragedy i must say kinda reminds me of the fragility of life. One moment you are enjoying life, planning for the future, the next minute your life can just be cut short because of something you ate. A person can never predict how long or how short their life is going to be so Carpe Diem people! :)

6 - Eversince the opening of Tampines 1 at Tampines Central, mannn Tampines is even more crowded!!!! Me don't like. Its very hard navigating through eastlink mall that connects the interchange to the MRT station, i already hated it when they started having carts in the area bluek~ Well considering the Mall has just opened maybe the crowds is to be expected. Hopefully the hype of the new mall will die down eventually. Did i mention how much i hate crowds LOL

7 - Got around to watching Arashi's AAA 2008 concert and i love it! If only they had a concert here in Singapore. My favourite performance has got to be Subarashiki Sekai and Sirius.
Before i sign off i'm sharing the videos here, enjoy!

Good Sunday Morning medarlings!
I have been quite busy this week as I've just started on my new job! Thus the lack of updates *grinz*

Well i'm back to work in an office and in the legal line to boot. Ah well can't be fussy in this bad economy but surprisingly so far I kinda enjoy the work. Tho my knowledge of legal processes etc are a bit on the rusty side I'm re-learning and refreshing my memory as I go along, plus the work in the office is not concentrated to one area of law which is awesome, so i don't get bored easily LOL. It ranges from criminal cases to civil cases I currently kinda like support all the lawyers who has anything for me to do, from legal research to drafting of letters. The pace is still quite okay as i'm still new, tho i expect it to pick up and i hope i can handle it when it comes to crunch time. *fingers crossed*

I am still getting used to having to waking up early as compared to how i usually have been waking up at noon for the past few months. LOL I now walk to Tampines MRT station from home coz waiting for the bus service to the interchange is such a biatch and when the bus comes its usually full. I figured it'll be a lot faster if i walked, plus i get some morning exercise at the same time!

Falling sick midway through the first week of work is very unpleasent. I had sore throat, running nose, non-stop sneezing and an oncoming feeling of fever. I highly suspect that my system is somewhat sensitive to dust thus the above symptoms coz now over the weekend the awful feeling i have been having has subsided. By Friday I was fed up with the sneezing and running noze in the office that I found some wet wipes in my desk drawer and proceeded to wipe the surfaces of my surrounding work area. I think i'm going to do that everyday before I start work.haha

And what better thing could have cheered me up after a long week of work than Arashi's 2009-2010 Calendar!!!!!
Yes I've finally collected it from Kino after procrastinating. Well also because I was waiting for the Spring discount promotion for members to take effect haha! 20% discount!! woot! So i ended up having paid less than $40 for the calendar wheeeeee~

Oh and an exciting discovery that i just had to blog about! Met up with T.ania, MX & Ling.na on Saturday at Northpoint for Dinner and we found ourselves at the new wing of the mall after walking aimlessly in search of a place to eat. And we came across Ishi Mura, a japanese themed foodcourt! wahhhh We decided to try it out and i LOVE the place! They should have one in Tampines and one in City Hall so I can patronize it everyday! (^-^)v

Me and T.ania decided to try the ebi okonomiyaki and since I was hungry I wanted to try the omelette rice as well. The okonomiyaki looks kinda different to me. I wonder if Singapore has those japanese okonomiyaki restaurants where you can cook your own like those they have in Japan. I would love to try that! Maybe if i visit Japan one day hehe
My salmon omelette rice was yummy! The omelette was all fluffy just the way I like it and the sauce was not 'jelak', it was sure a whole lot better than the local pattaya rice. yumm!

Fooood! )

Arashi's brand new single, Believe, is my current earworm! It constantly plays in my head all day and it helps that its my current favourite song! I listen to it everyday. I also watch their PV on my ipod when i'm on the train on the way home I kinda love it because the song is kinda like a motivational song too if you listen to their lyrics. wheee~

I don't know why i still read the occasional romance novel when every time I finish reading them I toss the book aside and roll my eyes. As much as i love the occasional romance angle in the works of fiction, when it gets too mushy usually towards the end I just can't help but be cynical. Although i love the idea of romance and happily ever after, I don't believe in them. What is romance really or love for that matter? Does 'love at first sight', 'soulmates' or 'happily ever after' even exist? I don't believe there is such a thing as happily ever afters. Its just an illusion and a facade to the dim reality that is life. I have seen too many of my friends and friends of friends getting hurt, cry over heartbreaks, disappointments and paranoia.

If falling in love sets yourself up for getting hurt, I don't think I want any of it. I get hurt enough even without being caught in the illusions of love. Life has made me strong in so many ways but I don't think i'm strong enough to endure heart break even if that was even a possibility. Heart infection was no sweat, i survived surgery, being infected twice and all that jazz, but emotional heartbreak? I hate to admit it but it sounds even scarier than heart surgery. Maybe this is why love will never find me and why i've never been in a relationship.

Then there's the rare occasions when i see old couples walking hand in hand together, being affectionate, the eye contact they give each other. That somehow makes me smile and gives me a glimmer of hope that true love do exist. Maybe one day if i meet someone who can do the impossible and keep me interested, overlook my imperfections and change my mind, then maybe i'll find out if such a thing exists.

Well enough of my cynicism. Oh and before i move on to happier things, I just want to rant about something.

-rant- )

Had a job interview today. My first after sending out countless resumes. I have no idea of the outcome since the recuritment agency still has to pass my resume to the actual employer and they will only notify me if i'm shortlisted. As much as I want the job I have to be realistic. There might be more qualified people for the job and oh did i mention I told them why i resigned from my previous job? That might have killed my chances then. Oh well. At least i was being honest.

I could be giving my comments on Singapore Budget 2009 but I'm too lazy for now and my sister wants to use her laptop which i'm currently using lol so before I log off, I was reading my Friends Page and saw [info]lady_northstar's pic spam of Arashi. Just because I don't believe in love does not mean I am any less of a girl who appreciates looking at good looking male specimens lol. So many nice images of the boys and i came upon this photo of Ohno:

Photobucket

I don't think I have a hand fetish, but, I like looking at ohno's hands. They are nice hands too look at. Nice lean tapered fingers. Maybe its only natural for an artist to have such nice hands, working on his art pieces XP I don't think anyone else in Arashi has similar nice looking hands. Well Matsujun's may come close but Ohno will still win hands down. *grinz*

I leave you guys now with my current favourite Arashi's recent peformance of their song Truth. Have a good long weekend!

I love love Westlife's new single, 'Us against the World', well besides the fact that i've actually heard it as early as last year since I have their album =P
Despite the video having been made up pretty much of photo/video collage of their early days as Westlife, I find it very nostalgic and it kinda reminded me how I used to like them when i was in my teens.
Another thing I like about the video is the fact that they did not leave out Brian in the photo/video collage of their early days. I miss seeing Westlife as a five member group.

Flying without wings
My favourite Westlife video/song of all time. This is the song i used to put constantly on replay when i was going through some rough time during my teenage years. A must play song during our once in awhile karaoke sessions. lol.

So, impossible as they may seem
You've got to fight for every dream
Cos who's to know which one you let go
Would have made you complete

I'm have not been feeling too good today, but managed to drag myself to work nonetheless. The thing that actually cheered me up this morning was Arashi's solo performance from their new Time Concert DVD that was kindly uploaded by [info]jinnyss. Thanks babe!

The Solos that I was really looking forward to watching LIVE was Nino's 'Niji', Oh-chan's 'Song for Me' & Matsujun's 'Yabaix3', for various reasons lol.
My heart skipped a beat when Nino took off his glasses when he was done with his piano playing to finish off his song, Oh-chan's dance moves were awesome, as usual, and Jun's opening dance which he walked on air/ceiling was impressive. It must have took a lot of practice and body strength to be able to move around and make it looks so easy and effortless.
And then there was Aiba. I gotta say Aiba-chan's was too cute! I would like a best friend like him. crazy wacky aiba. wahahaha. Oh and the only reason i have not mentioned Sho is because i've not seen his solo yet! the download failed on me and i'm too lazy to re-download it for now. Maybe later hehe =P
Non-arashi fans you can ignore the above since you won't have a clue with what i just said. lol!

Yesterday's American idol was interesting.
I was worried for the guys when I found out the theme was Mariah Carey hurhur
But surprisingly the guys managed to pull it off, heck they were even better than the girls!
My favourite of the night has gotta be David Cook
My younger sis will say i'm being bias but seriously the risk he took with MC's song,

Well the song sounded familiar and I couldn't place where I've heard it before.
I had to ask the video store cashier whose song they were playing
and surprise surprise it's from F4's latest album. Oh wait they are now called 'JVKV' o-O (v.original group name lol!) Well i've never really listened to an F4 song before but this is quite nice, well more on a catchy side i suppose.
And now the song is in constant replay in my head *bluek*

My American Idol =)
As much as David Archuleta is a cutie and has mad vocals for a what seventeen year old? which won me over when he sang 'Imagine', I think David Cook is much better in my books. Plus he is smart and it helps that I like to listen to singers who can deliver a good rock song. =)

hic.
I'll be first to admit that i'm not close to my cousins. As much as i wish to be, the lack of interaction somehow makes it awkward when we have a gathering twice/thrice a year, and that isn't a guarantee that everyone will be present. My sister is better at cousin relations than I am coz perhaps they have more things in common than i ever will. But when i say cousins, i am only refering to my maternal side coz apparently as i've discovered recently, on my parental side, we cease to exist in their minds. Even our cousins on the parental side don't acknowledge we exist. Maybe it due to the fact my father has passed away a decade ago and his siblings see no use of continuing their relations with us because we are a burden due to the size of our family. Sure we see them like once every few years but the forced smiles and awkwardness makes me hate the pretenses even more. Then again i've already had this feeling they never really liked us to begin with, even when dad was alive because we like to do things our way and don't really care what people think of us. What is so wrong about being oneself?

Then there are the family gatherings over the school holidays or the older cousin's engagement that we were not invited to. Its funny when you only discover about such things on their blogs. Don't even begin to tell me to make the first move coz i have done so before only to be ignored. Their loss i suppose, cause i think i'm at a point where i don't give a damn.
Don't tell me to let you know about anything that goes on in my family when clearly you have no interest in it whatsoever. When we needed help where were you?

I suppose dad would be disappointed at how things has gotten to be. I mean come on, take for example a few years back when a certain someone had the cheek to borrow money from us, a single parent family, to pay your own bills? hello??? You have not even paid back the money my dad lent to you when he was still alive. Blood relations are so overrated. One can only count on his own family. I love my family and its ok that we only have each other to rely on. We have survived thus far and we will continue to do so on our own merit.

on to not so serious blogging.

I was never a fan of Kanjani8. The first time i saw a clip of their performance on cruchy.roll. i was surprised that such a band existed, with their wacky attire and all. Then somehow towards the first half of the performance i notice someone familiar. I was asking myself, 'eh is that ryo??' 'he is in 2 bands??' 'eeehhh? o-O" ' and three-quarter through the performance i closed the window coz i thought the live performance sounded really out of tune. So from then on that's how i thought Kanjani8 songs and performance were like. That was the end to the start of my discovery of Kanjani8. Well that's what i thought at first.

I'm a big fan of NEWS and Arashi, and with the huge JE community on LJ dedicated to them as well as subbed videos, it was a matter of time before some videos had some Kanjani8 members in them, for example when NEWS was in 'HEY!HEY!HEY! Music Champ' in 2005 methinks and Hina and Yuu were one of their special guests. Then there were also videos specifically on Ryo from shows that Kanjani8 hosted. So i got curious with their ongoing variety show 'Jani-Ben'. I think through their variety shows and various interviews I got to know their personalities better and they really are unique in their own way. Started to check out their songs after hearing Yamapi and Ryo doing their own rendition of Kanfu Fighting on their NEWS tours which was on NEWS' Never Ending Wonderful Story DVD and i have to say their songs are not as bad as i thought it would be.

I may not be Kanjani8's biggest fan nor one who will go nuts over them but i am beginning to like their songs more, especially their new single ' wahaha'. I love songs with uplifting lyrics and their singles are those that will make you smile. Then again maybe i'm being bias. But who cares.

So i just got back from my latest eye appointment.
In case you're wondering, everything went fine. Nothing to worry about at this stage since there is no change.
The redness from my eye is gone, which is a relief.
My next eye appointment is next year so everything is ok (^-')b

One thing i have about going for hospital appointments are the atrocious waiting time.
Today itself i had to wait for two and a half hour just to see the doctor for 10 minutes!
By the time i saw the doctor the waiting area was almost deserted except for the few unlucky souls like me who had to wait for eternity just to see the doctor. Its especially not fun when you've been back and forth to the hospital thrice in a span of two weeks. I think i've browsed and read through almost all the backdated magazines they have at the waiting area. lol.

yay weekend is here.
meeting darling a.ida to celebrate her fiance's birthday tomorrow.
I know i'm so gonna feel like a lamp post there i swear. lol.

hmmz for some reason unknown Kanjani8's single Kanfu Fighting keeps repeating in my head!
ah well. here's a PV if you're wondering what on earth is azi talking about.

So this video has been going around the web.
Now my mandarin understanding may not be that good, but the gist of the video is that these Taiwanese celebrities are criticizing how the Singaporean way of speaking English is weird. (My mandarin speaking friends please correct me if i'm wrong)
Now how in the world could 'thanks' be pronounced as 'dance'? I seriously think that the guy should get his ears checked. How many Singaporeans have they actually talked to? Don't tell me its on the basis of one person they've encountered?

I know majority of Singaporeans have a unique slang that you can recognize even if you're in a foreign country. But the slang they were trying to imitate was not even recognizable. Do they expect everyone who speaks English to have a fake British/American slang?

Do they really think that their English is a whole lot better? Now seriously, majority of Taiwanese people don't even speak proper English, and here these people are making fun of the way we speak English and trying to correct us when English has been our lingua franca.

Like it or hate it, the Singaporean accent of speaking English is here to stay and I'm perfectly fine with the way Singaporeans speak English because it is sincere and not fake. But these 'language critics' should take a look at their own country first before criticizing others.

I've never been in love nor am i an expert on the subject, even with all the sad love-breakup stories i constantly hear around me from peers and friends.
But i know heartache. Heartache when someone you care about are constantly disappointing or hurting you in the only way that person can.

I love songs that is able to make me feel what the meaning the song is about. I love singers who are able to stir up emotions/feelings just through a song.

I fell in love with this song and it has been on constant replay on my mp3 everyday. Its from one of my favourite Jpop bands, NEWS. The songs never fails to make me feel sad. Its one of those songs that speaks to you especially when you're having trouble with your significant other. Thought I'd share it with you:
